An  Italian heirloom with stunning, apple-green heads that are superbly flavored. Its fractal form is a fascinating logarithmic Fibonacci spiral. This variety is widely grown in northern Italy. We started offering this variety this year. We have them planted in our gardens to see how they do in different beds.

    Peppers prefer rich, loamy soil. You can easily get this soil type by tilling in an inch or so of good, organic compost. Be careful with nitrogen, though. Peppers react well to nitrogen, growing so quickly that they are more disease-prone and won't produce as much.
