Calabrese broccoli is a nutritious, versatile, and flavorful heirloom variety of broccoli that originated in the Calabria region of Italy.
Calabrese broccoli has a large, central green head with tightly packed florets and sturdy, upright stalks. The heads are usually bluish-green in color and can grow to be 5–8 inches in diameter.
Calabrese broccoli has a slightly sweet and earthy flavor with a buttery, soft texture. Harvest when it's large and firm but still tightly in bud. After cutting the main head, smaller heads will form on the side shoots, extending the harvest for up to eight weeks

Peppers prefer rich, loamy soil. You can easily get this soil type by tilling in an inch or so of good, organic compost. Be careful with nitrogen, though. Peppers react well to nitrogen, growing so quickly that they are more disease-prone and won't produce as much.
